Panorama of Graphite Lake centre facing west

This is the view panning 180 deg. from south to north (left to right) from our dock. Another view from out in the lake looking back to the shore.

We're camping in the woods on the shores of Graphite Lake. We're keeping ourselves busy building stuff. We built a dock in July 2002. Then in the middle of September of aught two we went up and built a storage box in the woods in which to stow everything for the winter ('cause there was no way it was all coming home in the hatch-back). Then in summer 2003 we started our cottage. In summer 2004 we extended our little 8x12 room to be 8x20. During the summer of 2005 we didn't get up to the cottage much because we were pretty busy with a new baby (Jo). During the summer of 2006, Megs designed an 8x10 deck down by the water and went up with Addy to build it.
In April of 2007 we're building the rest of our cottage. Here's what my floor plans looked like. During 2008 we added a summer kitchen and Megs started building a set of stairs down the hill to the water. In 2009 she finished them. Here's a movie of the walk down to the lake:

In the summer of 2011, Megs built us a wood-fired stone oven and in 2013 I built a roof over it. We had our Thanksgiving turkey roasted in it for several years after that.

Here are slide shows of our camping and cottaging on Pine Ridge: 2002, 2003 & 2004, 2005, 2006 , 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.

Here is an overview of the cottage construction from its start in 2003 up to 2011. I'll fill it out more sometime.

At the time of writing it's spring 2021 in the 3rd wave covid19 lockdown but our hope is to build an extension on the cottage to make room for our growing family. Just gotta line up the permits and supplies.. Megs and I are about to become grandparents so we need bedrooms! I hope it will look like this (the left end under the steel roof):

Forty dollars of lawn sale fun!

Some years we spend Mother's Day at the cottage. There we were in 2012:
