Gggeeeezze....

Sitting here trying to type while waiting for my core temperature to return to a human level.......... What a day....

Hoodwinked... Nearly 41 and still a sucker for Southern Ontario fall weather.... Leaving home this morning, 15c (near 60 'murikan) with the sun streaming through the scattering storm clouds.... Hey, it can only get better as the day warms.... Eschewing the contemporary nylon for the cool old leather I splashed off up the street for the breakfast meeting spot....

What a hoot: a jewish dozen (can I say that?) {I don't think you aught to. - S.B.} Airheads enjoying breakfast and larfs to spare.... Bino and Craig should do television.... I'd gladly pay to watch the carry-on.... Bino's solo act nursing a hangover'd be worth the entry fee alone.... hahahaha....

A great breakfast and much coffee through the nose we head into the street and the gorgeous morning sunshine.... Milling around the bikes taking pot shots at the breeze and a woman crosses the street to politely ask us to be quiet while they make a motion picture....

Hollywood North.... Annnnd ACtion! Wouldn't have recognised Lauren Bacall unless the camera was pointing at her.... Before my time.... What do I know? Let's go riding.

Wow, the fall colours along Snake Road are startling. (insert boring, long winded description of fall colours here) The road's a bit more than the usual challenge with the cold surface temps, fallen leaves and standing water.... Slip slip slip.... Pay attention.... Man, it's getting chilly.... Within ten miles the temps have dropped into the low forties with howling wind and spitting rain.... Hundreds of dollars of cold weather riding gear hanging in the garage while I slip slowly into a hypothermic stupor.... What an Airhead.

Man, we had fun anyway. Chasing each other around the countryside. Losing each other, finding each other. Cheap shots at the stop signs, laughs along the roadside. Stopping to buy gas. The chills that go to the bone. We must be nuts. We love every minute. Not too many other bikes out here. Saw less than ten all day. We ARE nuts.

Very fine lunch at the Woodside in Hockley Valley. Highly recommendable. Pack in the calories for the ride home. Are those snow clouds? Warmth, food, beer, wine and delightful companions. I don't wanna' leave this place. It's a "happy place".

Ben, Bino, Brett, Colin, Craig, St. John, Jen, Paul, Roman, Ursula. Thanks for the great ride. You guys are the best.
